GIS Libraries

There are many libraries which can potentially make use of:

• ​Shapely - wraps ​GEOS
• ​WorldMill - wraps ​GDAL & OGR
• ​pyproj - wraps ​Proj
• ​Rtree - spatial indices for speed optimisation

Many other frameworks make use of Geo Components so these can be looked at for ideas:

• ​MapFish server - based on Pylons

We could also look at using ​Jython to access Java libraries:

• ​GeoTools - as used by ​GeoServer, ​GeoNetwork, uDig, etc
