Module for Management of Dead Bodies and Victim Identification (DVI)

Tasks:
- Report the find of dead bodies
- Register a body (Recovery Report)
- Trace a body (e.g. Storage, Transfers)
Get Access Permission
This module is not meant for public use, but for SAR/DVI teams. Hence, you need to get access permissions assigned by the system administrator (contact information on the front page) to be able to use this module.
Report a Body Find
If you want to report a find of dead bodies, click on "Body Find" in the menu bar, or go to:
- Enter date/time and location where the bodies were found. Choose a reference location from the locations list and/or describe location details (e.g. GPS coordinates) in the field below.
- Specify the number of bodies found and describe in brief the conditions at the place of find (e.g. trapped under debris, etc.)
- Press "Save".
Update a Find Report
If you want to update a find report, choose "List Reports" from the "Body Find" menu in the menu bar, or go to:
- Choose the report by clicking on the report ID
- This opens an update form, so you can update the report
- Press "Save".
Task Status:
New New recovery task Assigned Task assigned to a recovery team In Progress Recovery in progress Completed All bodies recovered (update also the number of bodies recovered Not Applicable No status applicable (e.g. task invalid, cancelled) Not Possible Recovery not possible so far
Register Body (Recovery Report)
If you want to report the recovery of a dead body, click on "Body Recovery" in the menu bar, or go to:
- Enter the ID tag number or body bag number into the field ID Label (Use a barcode reader, if available)
- You may select the corresponding find report from the list (optional)
- Enter date/time and the location from where the body has been recovered
- Specify details of the recovery in the field below (e.g. GPS coordinates, possible ID-relevant information)
- Check the options below to indicate the overall condition of the body
- Specify age group and gender by the select fields below
- Press "Save".
Update Recovery Report
- Enter the ID tag number or body bag number into the search field and press "Search"
- Select the correct record from the search results
- This directs you to the recovery report, so you can edit it
- Press "Save"
Trace a Body
- Enter the ID tag number or body bag number into the search field and press "Search"
- Select the correct record from the search results (this directs you to the recovery report, which you may update)
- Select "Tracing" from the menu "Body: ", or go to:
- See the list of locations the body has been registered to
- Add a new entry using the form under the list as follows:
- Observer: person accepting the body at the location
- Reporter: person reporting the body admission (i.e. you or your responsible team leader)
- Location: select your location from list
- Specify location details (e.g. place code, shelf/box number, GPS coordinates)
- Enter date/time of arrival
- Choose a presence condition (see table below)
- Press "Save".
Presence Conditions:
Check-In arriving at this location for storage Check-Out released (e.g. to relatives) from this location after storage Reconfirmation re-confirmation of storage at this location (on request) Found only temporarily at this location, accidentally found Procedure temporarily at this location for a procedure (e.g. examination) Transit temporarily at this location between two transfers (specify origin and destination) Transfer released from this location to be transferred to another (specify destination) Missing no longer present at this location, but missing Lost no longer at this location, but destroyed/disposed here
